To establish the analyzing ststem for discrimination of various cultivars of Brassica juncea L., the essential oils from leaves of original species, leaf mustard red, leaf mustard blue and leaf mustard Dolsan, which were commonly cultivated in korea, have been analyzed by GC-MS. There were significant differences in composition of oils among the cultivars while many of components including allyl isothiocyanate, 2-butene nitrile, azulene, beta-cyclocitral, benzene propane nitrile, etc. were detected in all the experimented oils. The main components found in the oil of original species were allyl isothiocyanate (18.55£¥). 2-butene nitrile (42.91£¥) and 2-phenyl ethyl isothiocyanate (21.76£¥) which showed the highest contents in oils of leaf mustard Dolsan and leaf mustard red, respectively.
